SftP-NHV Presents: Disentangling Science and Militarism

Science for the People (SftP) is an organization of scientists, workers, educators, and activists dedicated to building a bottom-up social movement with radical perspectives on science and society. Check out the following links for info on the organization, the magazine, and the archives!

Join us (the New Haven chapter of SftP) for a discussion on the relationship between science and the global military-industrial complex, and how we can organize to liberate science from the clutches of militarism. We will be reading excerpts from three articles in the most recent issue of the Science for the People magazine, Killing in the Name Of.

Excerpts will be from the following articles:

Science and Imperialism: Scientists as Workers for Peace by Archishman Raju

Lie, Cheat, and Steal: The CIA’s Disastrous Scientific Legacy by Owen Marshall

I Am A Radical and So Are You by Calvin Wu

Snacks provided, and a social event will follow at The Cannon on Dwight St for those interested!
